Be an Influencer
16 Jun 2008
The question we ask today is – do you want to be influenced or be an INFLUENCER? – the reality in our lives, is that often we allow others to influence us too much, instead of standing up for what we believe in, and do something about influencing our world around us.
Each of us has the greatness of God inside them, but too often we don’t stand in our authority! In the book of Mark chapter 1 it describes Jesus, who overcame the temptations of the flesh, the soul (mind, will emotions) and the spirit in the wilderness, as the devil came to tempt him. When He left the desert, He called to Himself His disciples who immediately came to Him and followed Him. This was because Jesus spoke as “one with authority, not as the scribes” – He had overcome, He had made the right choices to live for His Father, and not to be taken in by the devil and his temptations.
So it is, we must learn to exert pressure on the devil and the world if we are going to be significant in our world and lead people to a saving knowledge of Jesus! We must stand in our authority and live it out every day of our lives. Let’s be INFLUENCERS today and take back from the enemy what he has tried to steal from us and for those around us.

Ouch, ouch, ouch!
02 Jun 2008
What is it about when God calls us to do things, that these things are not always easy to deal with! There are hard things in life that lead to good things at some point down the track. It can be described as when you walk over hot sands and finally get to that place of shade it is “ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch” until you finally get to the “aah” moment of relief from the heat.
Sometimes we just want to stay in the “aah” moment in our lives forever, but then God calls us on to another set of “ouch” moments where He takes us on to a higher level in what we do. Jesus told us, in this life you will have challenges, but I will never leave you nor forsake you!
So take heart when the challenges come, God is with you through them all. His grace, His love and His blessings will take you through every time.

Who are you?
26 May 2008
Who are you? – is a great question, and one which takes us a lifetime to really get hold of, however, if we will delve into the types of people we can be, it gives us an idea of what we are not, and what we should be. For example – there are 4 generally different kinds of thinkers in the world today:
-
No.4 thinker – is the person who has no goals, keeps doing “ground hog day” everyday, claims they have no problems, but is just along for the ride.
-
No.3 thinker – has lots of goals, is energetic, but confused and undisciplined – if things get too hard they just simply change goals.
-
No.2 thinker – they are disciplined, but disciplined to think about the problems ( The Bible in Numbers 13 describes them perfectly as the 10 spies who saw the promised land as it was – but only saw the problems it brought, instead of the potential) – these are the people who say “but” a lot!
-
The No.1 thinker – they are solution oriented, creators, always thinking about the solutions to things.
The question is - who are you in all this? Are you No.1 in some areas and no.3 in others for example? Ask yourself these questions this week and see where you fit in and also ask... who am I?

The Mark
19 May 2008
We are pressing towards the mark of the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus – we are constantly stepping towards that mark in God, where one day He will finally say – “Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord..”
In the meantime we press forward and in doing so, as we press, we press against everything that the devil tries to throw at us. It requires us to be strong , bold and defiant in the face of the challenges we face in doing God’s will for our lives. We must also not miss the mark, as if we do we are missing out on God’s best. We must not let sin ruin our fellowship with God and be willing to repent and live our lives in a state of pure heartedness.
We must learn to make a mark – be the difference to a lost and dying world ! We must BE the mark – in other words be the example to others and finally we must HIT the mark!! We must get to the end of our lives and as Paul wrote – I have finished my course, I have fought the good fight of faith! That is what God wants us to be – people who hit the mark, whilst making a mark on our generation.
Blessings,

God is so big!
12 May 2008
God is so big, yet He cares about the littlest things in our lives!
The most amazing thing about God is considering the universe and how big it already is, yet He took the time to mark us individually with His love and then come to dwell inside someone as insignificant in size as we are. His love says to us, that no matter how big things are around us, He cares for the smallest things happening in our lives.
As we saw on the weekend, God has made some amazingly huge planets, and our own earth is just the size of a golf ball in comparison to those massive planets and the universe and then there is tiny us. And as tiny as we are, into our lives, God has placed the most complicated DNA and body structures that help us to realise, that from the macro to the micro, God is on our side and He cared enough so that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made by Him.
Be encouraged today that He loves you so much that even though we are so small in comparison to the universe, we are so important and special to Him!
Have a blessed week.
